WITNESSED FALL   MONROE METEORITE
At 3:00 pm, a meteorite was heard to fall, and an 8.6 kg stone was later recovered near a post office. Monroe is classified as a brecciated H4 chondrite. The brecciation may have resulted from a thermal impact that occurred 1.1 billion years ago, in which Argon was lost from the meteoroid.
